The premise of two young Mormon missionaries trying to convert a man to their religion. However, he flips the table and tries to shake their faith instead, which is intriguing stuff.
The first act is great, with all the tension and Hugh Grant’s phenomenally unsettling performance. He is a stand-out here and it is great to see him in a role that is completely different from his norm. The second act with the philosophical debate is genuinely very thought-provoking. Unfortunately, the movie doesn’t stick the landing and the final act is kind of underwhelming.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed this a lot, and I always love it when people do something different with the horror genre.
